Information Sheet

Everything you need to know for a great vacation:
Our check in time is 2:00pm. Should you arrive in the area early we suggest you might enjoy sightseeing or shopping on the waterfront in Poulsbo, just 4 miles away. Because we need time to thoroughly clean and inspect the premises before the arrival of each vacationing party, we set the check out time to 12:00 noon, no exceptions, please. Parking is available for one car.

The kitchen has a refrigerator, range, microwave, coffee maker, blender, toaster, rice maker, Cuisinart, pots & pans, etc. There are lots of dishes, glasses, and serving-ware. We stock paper products and cleaning supplies.

The Shack sleeps two with a queen size bed in a sleeping alcove.

You will find free high speed WiFi in the cabin but no TV. We do supply a selection of books and games for those inevitable damp days. Cellphone coverage is excellent.

The cabin heats quickly using the wood stove and/or baseboard. The baseboard heater control is on the wall by the fridge. To start a fire in the wood stove, use the kindling located under the back porch. For feeding the serious fire, use wood from the wood shed. The gas fireplace is on a timer located on the wall. Never leave the Shack with the gas fireplace lit.

Access to the beach and pool is by a convenient communal walkway by the Chinese pavilion. You will find many seating areas you can enjoy along with a hammock in the trees. The beach is rocky with sand on a good low tide.

Pool
The unheated freshwater pool is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day, 9am-9pm. Everyone enjoys the pool so please take your pool toys and lounging accouterments back up with you when done for the day. Pool and beach towels are located in the utility closet. Please NEVER SWIM ALONE and NO UNSUPERVISED CHILDREN ANYWHERE NEAR THE POOL. The pool is shallow ranging from 3’ to 5’; in case you hadn't thought of it: DIVING IN WILL KILL YOU.

Cottage Keeping
The cabin is supplied with fresh sheets and towels; extra blankets are in the steamer trunk for those chilly nights. As they accumulate, please place your used towels in the hamper. If you run low, placing the hamper on the deck by the front door will indicate that you require fresh towels. The bathroom is supplied with toweling and the amenities usually expected in overnight lodging along with a hairdryer.

If garbage starts to accumulate, you can use the garbage can next to the garage. Please keep it neat with garbage bags tied. We are in the woods and food attracts raccoons, deer, crows, and other not-so-attractive varmints.

Peace and quiet is a valued amenity here, we love our guests, but loud and unruly folks will be asked to leave. We recommend the Kiana Lodge for weddings, receptions, family reunions, or group parties, our place isn’t suited for these events. Our insurance company insists that there be absolutely NO SMOKING or fireworks anywhere on the property.

We are sorry but we can no longer accept pets.
